Tandav Nrtya is the divine dance performed by Natraj, the dancing God to control the rhythm of the Universe. Through the seven types of Tandav, he sequences the cycle of creation, preservation and destruction and maintains the daily rhythm of birth and death. Seven types of Tandav are Rudra, Anand, Tripura, Sandy, Samara, Kaali, and Gauri. This painting depicts the Lord in the middle of Anand Tandav - The dance of joy.
